How to Setup Android

Option 1 - Setup through our Android App

The easiest way of configuring your Android device to use Liberador.net Smart DNS is to install the Liberador Android App available here.

Using the Liberador App also let you use our DNS when you are connected through a Mobile Network like 3G/4G which is not possible through manual setup that can only be done for Wi-Fi Networks.

With the Liberador App you will be able to activate and deactivate Liberador.net Smart DNS with One Click. You will also be able to set the app to auto activate our DNS on your device at boot.

Option 2 - Manual setup

Important

There are a lot of implementations of Android in the market. That is why each device might have a different way of changing DNS settings. Below are guides for standard setup on Android.

Steps to setup Android 4.x (Jelly Bean and KitKat)

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click on word Wi-Fi.
  3. Press and hold your wireless network until dialog pops up.
  4. Select Modify Network.
  5. Check Show advanced options.
  6. Set IP settings to Static.
  7. Keep IP address, Gateway and Network prefix length the same.
  8. Set DNS 1 field to 45.63.105.236 and set the DNS 2 field to 163.172.156.27
  9. Click Save.
  10. Restart your device.

Steps to setup Android 5.x and 6.x (Lollipop, Marshmallow)

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Wi-Fi settings.
  3. Press and hold your wireless network until dialog pops up.
  4. Select Modify Network.
  5. Check Show advanced options.
  6. Set IP settings to Static
  7. Type your IP address, Gateway, Subnet/Network prefix length using the same values you see in gray.
  8. Set DNS 1 field to 45.63.105.236 and set the DNS 2 field to 163.172.156.27
  9. Click Save.
  10. Restart your device.

Important

First step of troubleshooting should always be to restart device(s) and router. Then check your account status in your account. You should always see 3 green check marks if the device you are using to visit the account home is set up correctly.

If you use the Opera Max browser, you should not use it to check your account as it is incompatible. Please use another browser like Chrome or Firefox instead.
